She received an Academy Award nomination for her performance as Stands With A Fist in Dances with Wolves and she is also very well known for her performance as the President Laura Roslin in Battlestar Galactica and as President's wife on Independence Day and for her starring performance in Donnie Darko, as the main protagonist's mother.
